Ants are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals. They like to feast on sugary substances like nectar from flowers and the sweet secretions produced by aphids. They also eat other insects, dead animals, and even seeds and fungi.
Ants play an important role in nature by aerating the soil, helping to decompose dead plant and animal matter, and being a source of food for many other animals like birds and anteaters.
